Happy Days Are Here Again
The annuel Spring Fling fundraiser brought "Happy Days" to Inverness Village in Tulsa, Okla., this year. With music from the 1950s and decorations presenting a throwback of a soda shop, diner and life-size cutouts of famous people from the era, the event was not only fun but set a community record in raising funds for benevolent care.
Leading up to the event, co-chairs Les and Nancy Gleaves promoted it with appearances as their own 1950s alter egos, including leading an afternoon of 1950s trivia with themed prizes. Their entusiasm helped created a sell-out crowd for the dinner, silent auction and live auction and set a fundraising record of $154,000, netting $143,000. The 2018 event was a 19.3 percent increase over funds raised over 2017 and an 83.3 percent increase in funds raised over 2016. Definitely Happy Days for the Benevolent Care Fund!
