Vice President of Development
Susan Mayernick joined the Asbury Foundation on January 8, 2018 to serve as Vice President of Development. Susan comes to the foundation from Messiah College, situated in Grantham Pennsylvania, where she served 8 years on their development team fostering a culture of giving through various roles. Prior to her time at Messiah College she served as a leader in direct sales and marketing for 10 years.
Susan held several roles at Messiah College providing her with experience and deep understanding of planned and leadership gifts. Her career started as Heritage Society Coordinator, Heritage Society Advisor and Major Gift Officer, and most recently as Sr. Development Gift Officer and Planned Gift Advisor. At each position, Susan was afforded the opportunity to find success through collaboration with leadership to develop robust development initiatives, lead quality staff, and develop various committees to pursue development goals.
Susan shares, “I view development work as a way to engage community members in a deep and meaningful way. I believe that all of us have a spirit of helping others and investing in something beyond ourselves for the greater good. Being stewards of our resources to support others and the missions we believe in, helps us to focus on our neighbors and provides a way to experience the joy of giving. I am honored to serve our Asbury Communities and connecting others to join me in supporting our mission”.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sport and Exercise Science and a Master of Arts in Strategic Leadership from Messiah College. Currently, she serves as the Chair of the Hershey Area Christian Women's Connection, a Stonecroft Ministry, Hershey, PA Division. Susan and her husband, Matt, have three children, Nathan, Patrick and Julia. Her family is involved in their church, sports, music and other community interests. Coming from a large family, Susan enjoys traveling to see family and enjoys family vacations.
