2011 James G. Schneider Golf Outing
The annual James G. Schneider Golf Outing, coordinated by Asbury Foundation, was enjoyed by 27 resident and associate golfers from Springhill. Competition was tough and scores were close. All golfers received a great golf towel donated by Board member, Christine Mcclure and the Knox McLaughlin Cornal & Sennet firm.
Team 6 – Irene Wolcott, Don Holtz, Doug Kleckner and Dick Muscaro tied with Team 2 – Bill McAchren, Clint Smith, Royce Tonjes, and Dick Lynn with a score of three under par. A “putt off” was held and Team 6 won when Don Holtz dropped the final put.
Team 3 took third place with Stan Krahnke, Gordon Osborn, Joe Pawlik, and Mike Donohue. Team 3 – Carol Eller, Jo Messenkopf, Joe Podolsky and Jacob Dougan rounded out the middle slot in fourth place; followed by another tie between Teams 4 and 6 with Norm Grode, Dave Spaeder, and Lou DePalma and Cheryl Busch, Joe Bertoncini, Eric Roache and Brian Platz. Ryan Hetrick, Bill King, Doris Christianson and Jim Schneider made up the final team.
Melinda Wegemer filled in for Bill Madden as tournament photographer and beer cart driver and did a superb job. Next year’s outing is already being planned. Bragging rights only last a year – so join Ryan’s weekly golf trips to practice your strokes and see you all next year.
