Training & Education Fund
Asbury~Solomons Island has a reputation for providing quality and innovative care and services to seniors. As the need for healthcare personnel grows, the need for growth and development opportunities for associates also grows in order to meet rising expectations. Providing educational opportunities helps to attract and retain exceptional associates to provide outstanding care and services to our residents.
In 2009, Asbury~Solomons found a way to not only show how much they value their associates through training and education; but they also found a way to double their money while doing it! The Asbury Foundation Office and Human Resources Department together created the A~S Training & Education Fund. Monetary resources for this fund come mostly from residents who are interested in making sure that Asbury~Solomons associates have the most up-to-date training and education that will enhance their professional skills.
These donations are used in cooperation with the Maryland Business Works Grant. This state program mission is to support existing Maryland businesses in the retention and growth of their workforce. In order to receive these grant funds, they require a $1 for $1 match from the employer. For Asbury~Solomons, this match comes from the monies raised for the Training & Education Fund.
Since its beginning, the A~S Training & Education Fund has allowed 35 associates to receive professional training at no cost to themselves.
