For Love of Neighbor Campaign
As of Dec. 31, 2008, the Asbury Methodist Village (AMV) Benevolent Care Endowment Fund totaled $10.6 million. From 1992 through the end of 2008, the endowment fund has had an average annualized return of 6 percent. In 2008, Asbury Foundation engaged in a feasibility study for a campaign to grow the Benevolent Care Endowment Fund. Board members, residents, and staff were interviewed, and a goal to raise $5 million by the end of 2010 was set. Ten percent of the goal ($530,000) was reached in the first three months.

What will an additional $5 million mean for Asbury Methodist Village residents in need?
Conservatively, assuming a 5% annual return, the additional income from an expanded endowment would cover benevolent care costs for either an additional 26 residents or the shortfall from providing healthcare to 30 individuals on Medicaid. Most importantly, the expanded endowment would strengthen Asbury Methodist Village’s commitment to quality retirement and healthcare even for those who can no longer afford it.
